engine stamping

were all 1969 396's stamped on right front or were some stamped left rear?

Some of the new blocks have the stamp on the left/rear..Don't know if this makes it a new block, just know that the new ones have them there.

I want to say that they all have a stamp on the left rear as well as the front. The stamp in the front near the valve cover has more info in the car it was in and the build date. The casting number at the rear is a different number. I could be a bit wrong though.

the motor has the numbers from the vin in it

does any one know of A Good site for casting info. I use mortech,but they have been wrong in the past.
