Default Engine Compartment Paint Color

Does anyone know where the color break line is between the fire wall and body. My 68' will painted Fathom blue would like to know where the color transition between the firewall to the car color. Is the firewall and inner fenders always black, or did the factory ever paint the engine compartment the same color as the car?

Strange... my car has the blue on the top section of the cowl and firewall is black. I remember years ago I freshened up the paint on the firewall, but don't remember if it was black or blue. See my pic

Eric... is that your Camaro's original paint?

Does any one else know how to paint the top of the cowl at fire wall?

I think the color transition is right at the top corner where the fire wall meats the cowl. However, I do like the look of the cowl painted black.
