Electric Fan Control Preferences
I need advice on how to control my new 16" Electric Fan....
First, should I go with a Temp Sensor on the engine or a probe stuck in the radiator fins?
Second, should I go with a preset controller like... on at 200, off at 185? Ive also seen them avail... on at 185, off at 170.
or should I go with an adjustable controller?
What are you guys running? what have you had experience with? Im open to all suggestions! Thanks guys

I could go either way with the sensor, that's a personal preference. Either way will work, but as far as the controller, I would use an adjustable one so you can dial it in to where you want the engine temperature to be. On mine, I turn the fan on manually (only need it in traffic anyway). I hooked mine up that way "temporarily" till I got things sorted out. That was 5 years ago!
but.... I keep hearing stories of people forgetting to turn their fans on with bad results. Id like to say "Id never do that" but then Id do it for sure. So, Im leaning towards probe stuck in the radiator fins.... and an adjustable thermostat. Thanks for the help 69.
Yeah, I guess it comes down to how easily distract.......oh look at that hot blonde in the.... ummmm, now where was I? lmao
I always keep a close eye on my gauges. I can honestly say the temp has never gotten away from me. But, "automatic controls" can't be beat.
