Line 1:
12437: Coupe
VN: Van Nuys plant
254744: Fisher Body number (has nothing to do with the VIN)

R566: This is a Van Nuys tracking code. R: Day of the month the car started down the assembly line. A=1st, B=2nd etc. R is the 18th letter of the alphabet, so the 18th day of the month.
566: Yours was the 566th car down the line on that 18th day.

Thanks for the info CAMARO 69 . I've never seen a " VN " in the first line ...I thought it was just N for NORWOOD or L for LOS ANGELES....

Were the a Lot of 69s with the VN trim tags ?

does anyone else have a pic of their VN car n trim tag ?

The codes were NOR for Norwood, LOS for Los Angeles (Van Nuys), and VN for Los Angeles (Van Nuys). LOS and VN stands for the same plant, located in Van Nuys, they just changed the designation on the trim tag. "LOS" code was used until mid December 1968 production, "VN" code was used beyond that.
I don't know the breakdown of how many at each plant, or if that info is even available. It's approximated that 75% of all 1st gens were produced at the Norwood plant, 25% at LOS/VN. Based on the production dates; September 1968-November 1969, there would be more VN codes than LOS.
