dynacorn, yearone or pay $14,000 to bodyshop
I am trying to decide to either send my 69 x11 to the body shop and spend the quoted 14,000 or should I just by a new body. A paint job is included with the body shop price. Any suggestions or recommendations will be appreciated.
Well it all depends on what you are getting for your 14k. Mine cost me 9k for a complete restoration along with a paint job. My 9k got me most all the of outside shell changed out and a new rearend and trunk pan. The guy was super cool but out of business now. If I had to do it all over again I would go with what we did. I had a master craftsman who did things old school.

Dynacorn bodys are not ready for paint. All the doors and fenders will need fitted and the whole car blocked. You could tie up another 3 to 5K getting it painted. If you trust the body shop it is a no brainer.
I agree with Gorn and Orocker. Have a shop do it. Like gorn said, there is alot of work to do than just put the parts together. besides, you already have an origional 69, easier than putting together a new body.
yea... Pics man Pics! and lots of them!! the last project I sent to the body man I just bought him a camera and hung a tag on it with my name and the descript of the vehicle. I didnt see either one for 6 months but when I got them back I had a very nice ride and a shoebox full of "start to finish" pics. Its awesome to look back on. Enjoy your project.
