Default Driving across the US in 67 RS SS

Hi A friend and I have just picked up my new 67 RS SS out of Lakeland Florida. We are driving across country to LA and shipping it back to my hometown in New Zealand. We are currently in Texas and after a few minor problems we are cursing at around 60mph. The cars running a 396 using a bit of oil apart from that not to many other issues. This week it turns 50 and me a couple of weeks after. Just thought I'd post this and let people know what a 50 year old chevy can do Cheers Rick

Welcome, Rick, to the Club.
Awesome trip for you.
'Keep the rubber side down' and enjoy your journey - both - here in USA and your new ride.

BTW - Happy Birthday!

Why are you cursing at 60? I'm sure you meant cruising lol.
Every big block Chevy I've owned would loose oil running freeway speeds after a while, they tend to blow it out the breather at higher rpms, lots of crankcase pressure.
Sounds like a real gas man, a cross country trip in a classic Camaro is the stuff dreams are made of. We'd love to see some pics!

I am jealous, sounds like a amazing experience. Keep the good time rolling and congrats on the new addition.

I know what you mean. I bought my 69 Camaro in Florida in 2004 and drove it home to Massachusetts. It's the best!
