Default Distributor advice please?

I am getting ready to put my engine back in the car (the burnt 69). It is a factory 69 300hp turbo-fire 350. It has headers and a holley contender intake. I'm know it was rebuilt very recently before I got it. It must have a minor cam change be cause it sounded really sweet, nothing big just didnt sound like stock. I am putting a new Edelbrock 650 carb on it. I dont know alot about ignitions and distributors so I was wondering if I could get some suggestions on name brands and/or exactly which model you'd use. looking for something thats good at a decent price. I want to put electronic ignition on it so I guess that is a HEI unit? should I get a coil thats built in the cap?? Any help is greatly appreciated.

You can go the HEI rout but if I remember right you may have to "Modify" your fire wall. I put a pertronics ignitionin my stock distributor and added a Pertronics Flame Thrower II. It gave me a better cold starts. My mistake was I replaced that at the same time I installed a Holley avenger carb. I have no clue which did itbut the carrun so much better at lower RPMs.Fires almost instantly even on cold morning.

I also went with Pertronics Flame Thrower, and it works great. I have the same drive train as your 69'. 350-300hp/TH350but withstock intake/carb and after Ireplaced thestock points type ignition, it starts right up the first time and smooth no hesitation from low rpm's to high rpm's. Pertronics was also recommended from almost every local performance shop. Reasonably priced also.

X3 on the pertronics. You might even find them on ebay. I have one for my 73 super beetle and it works great, never had a problem.
