Did the 1st gen Camaro's have fold down rear seats?

Yes they did have that option, it was RPO A67

You could just come up with a hinge and latch system... probably make it look better than factory

 

you can find them on ebay once and a while. i got everything to put one in a first gen. i plan on installing it hopefully this year into my 68. its been sitting in the shop for a while i just need to make up my mind if i want to just recover the rear or do all my seats and convert to deluxe houndstooth.

you could do that but it wont look factory because the seats are different. the fold down is actually narrower and there are armrests added to the side panels in the fold down cars over standard rear seat cars.

 

I would love to buy your 68 fold down seat from you. Give me the price and I live in San Diego.
