Default Dash Removal

Just preparing to redo the interior of my car (in the Fall) and I have a question about the dash....not the dash pad, but the metal components.

I would like to repaint the metal parts. Is the dash actually removable?

I have heard that they need to be welded in...if so, I would need to take the car with the interioir stripped to the paint shop.

I could use some good advise, please.

Thanks,
Vic

No the dash metal parts do not come out. Only the glove box cover and ash tray. The rest is connected to the A pillars and windshield. If you want t painted you have to do it from inside the car.

tape and paper is your best friend when it comes to repainting it.....remove the removable pieces, stick paper up inside behind it to cover the wires and a/c and then tape up the rest of the interior and spray away. A good quality paint shop should be able to take care of it for you without gutting the interior.
