My hood keeps coming unlatched while I'm driving, it just pops up 1 inch and is still semi latched... I have tried adjusting the spring position... Nothing. could it be the bottom latch mechnism or just the spring that works the latch lever?

Figured I would post it before I just started ordering all new Hood latch parts...

 

Yeah, try raising the latch mechanism. Sounds like it's not tripping completely closed when you lower the hood.

 

My hood opened on me once, I was driving on my way to work and had just pulled out of the neighborhood, going down the street when i said to myself (something does not look right) I went to apply the brakes and the hood stood right up! Blew the springs off and bent the corners of the hood a little. I motored back home pulled the hood off and went to work. I never saw my car like that before, the engine looked so cool until I realized, man I hope it doesent rain or someone steals my carb off my car. I had forgot I opened the hood the night before to top off my oil,,,,,I always checked my hood good after that.
