Question Dakota Digital dash

I have a 69 Camao that has a engine out of a 09 Pontiac G8. I was told that I must use the dash out of the Pontiac as a Dakota Digital dash will not work. Not sure why? Does anyone know if this will in fact work and what does it take to make the Dakota dash work proper as I would like to retain the look of the Camaro and not the Pontiac dash. Thanks

I helped a friend put a 2013 LS engine with it's 6 speed trans into a 1965 Chevelle last year and he had installed a Dakota Digital Dash Cluster in it. We didn't have time to get the speedo calibrated before he left for the winter, but all the other gages work without a problem. Have you talked to Dakota Digital about any questions you may have? I can try to find the phone number for tech help if you haven't.

I did talk to them today and who ever I talked to didn't know why it wouldn't work? He wasn't very helpful.

Why don't you try downloading the Wiring and Setup Manual from Dakota's website. You'll have to click on the Manuals tab to get to the manual links. I would think it will give an explanation of what is involved to install.

Ok I will take a look. I was told to download the 09 G8 owners manual and look in section 4 instrument cluster, steering wheel controls. I took a look but still not sure why I was told that the Dak Dig gauges wont work. Thanks
