Default Convertible Switch Install

Guys,

I'm having issues installing the convertible switch in my 67. The original housing and switch were not in the car when I purchased it.

The pins for the new switch fit nicely in the harness without the housing but when the switch is in the housing the wires on the harness don't fit in the available space. See photo.

Also the housing doesn't seem to be accurate for my 67. The hole spacing are the right dimension but the housing has a post that doesn't seem to fit anywhere in the back of the dash.

Any suggestions?

What a dummy. I found this illustration on the web. Looks like I put the switch into the housing backwards.
