Convertible convenience?

I'm still on the line on whether to purchase a convertible or hard top. I had a 72 Corvette with the T-top and removable back window. It was nice throughout most the summer. With it installed, it was great in the winter, spring, and fall also. Best of both worlds. I'm leaning towards a convertible now that I sold my 72 vette. However, I'm researching how much HP I can run through a convertible frame and was wondering about other aspects:
1) What is the road noise like at 80-85? Here in Colorado Springs, the limit is 75 mph and I usually hit 5-10 over.
2) Spring is nice here, but it rains a lot. How leak proof are the convertibles?
3) How do the tops work in extream cold? I'll never put it down, but...At 15 degrees, will the top be subject to cracking? Will the heater be sufficient to keep the vehicle warm? We have beautiful winter days with sun, but just really cold.
4) Is there such thing as a removable roll cage? I.e. If I want passengers in the back seat and the top down, I'd like it to look semi normal. I know there are removable door bars, but what about the rear hoop? Would it still be legal to run down a track?
5) I like to hit Hot August nights in the summer. Will the A/C keep a convertible cool in the heat?

I have a 96 convertible here in denver. the heater works great. road noise not too bad. I have leak at the rear of my passenger window but not too bad and its probably unique to me.I never really put the top down in winter. I dont know about the air on with the top down in summer

With all of those concerns I don't think you will be happy with a convertible. Convertibles are great, thats all i've ever owned, but they are not as tight as a coupe . They will get some water around seals when you wash them and you get more outside road noise , but there is just something that I personally like about the feel and sound of a convertible, even with the top up.

The convertible top is great and I love my 68, however has anyone come across a removable hard top conversion that would replace the factory folding convertible frame? Thought it might be nice to have the best of both worlds. Kind of like some of the old vettes used to have'
