Default Convertible Top

I just bought a 95 Z28 6 speed. It's a convertible and I can't get the top to go all the way down. Any ideas?

I just bought a 95 Z28 6 speed with the LT1 and it has some sort of control over the gears. If you are punching it out in first and try to go to second it won't let you. It takes you to fourth gear. Speed shift light comes on when this happens. Can't imagine why they would put this on a car like this but need to get it off. Any ideas? Thanks

[&:] couple ideas for the top: first the shelf in the trunk behind the rear seat must be clear and empty as this is where the top folds down into, second you may have a fluid leak in the top folding mechanicals and not have enough fluid for the rams to completely stow the top. id suggest that you try to manually attempt to stow the top in the full down position by turning the manual operation **** that is located on the pump and see if this allows the top to fully stow(this **** should be under the small door in the carpet in the trunk on the drivers side)

as for your ship problem you can purchase a small device called a skip shift eliminator to solve your problem, i think ive seen them on ebay or probably can also be found on jegs or summit website let us know how it goes kurt

The skip shift light turns on and locks out 2nd gear so that you shift to 4th, it was designed for better fuel economy on the v8.
When shifting, I usually just keep my foot on the clutch just a bit longer and the light turns off.. if it gets really annoying for you, try searching for a "Skip Shift Eliminator", try ebay or something, they are pretty cheap and very easy to install.
