Since they advertised it as an RS clone and say nothing about the SS badges, it should also be safe to say it's not a real SS either. Yes, that's way too much for a dressed up plain jane 68.

Not to promote any one seller, but just for comparison sake.... look this one over and compare it's condition, options, etc. to the one you're looking at. Classic Car Liquidators 1968 Chevrolet Camaro - $20,999

And... 1968 Chevrolet Camaro
Keep in mind these are in the Chicago area. Prices can vary depending on location.

Nice looking, but '69 accessory bracketry, Vintage Air A/C.
As said, could have started out as a Plain Jane and outfitted.
Could be an electric aftermarket RS pkg as I don't see vacuum hoses for a '68 RS.
Still, Camaro looks nice, smaller wheels though, Centerlines would set her off.

Camaro prices are crazy. My advice, start with the best body/frame/paint you can afford. (Bring a magnet, jack, and flashlight when you inspect the car.) Everything else can be easily replaced with hand tools, good friends, and time. You are probably not going to find an original ss, rs, or z28 for $20k in decent condition. Also, unless you are looking for an investment car ($40k+) and not planning on driving it, a rebadged plain jane is fine. Just don't pay the inflated price is its not the real deal. From looking at Camaros for sale, $20k gets you into the low end of a decent ready-to-go driver.
