cam swap
Looking to put a 305ci 76-85 cam in my 1969 350ci blockblock-anybody know if it will work?? If so any mods? Doing it out of sheer economics at this time. I need some tech advice.
Is there anybody out there??

Normally I don't post on question I don't know the answer to. It's not to offen someone post a question about a small block that I can not answer. I can say I have never installed a cam that was not designed for the block it was going in. I think in it would work. Things you would have look for:
Cam Gear and Crank gear match up. Normally you buy a timing chain as a set. Willa 305timing chain kit fit the 350 crank? Or will the 350 timing chain kit fit the 305 cam? Is the cam index to the cam gearthe same? Is the closed (non-lift) area of the cam the correct dia for the 350 valve train? If its not is there enough adjustment in the valve train? You know the 305 can is designed for fuel milage for a smaller engine it will starve your 350. YOu my not even idle very smooth.
Seems like a lot of work and a lot of risk to save $56

I would go with the 350 one to be on the safe side, why risk all the effort to see if it will work or not.
I dont know alot about cams, as far as aplicable to your question, I would imagine though, that if the lobes match and are plumb it should work. I know you can interchange some cranks (see the 1st gen Z/28) so the cams might be changable too - I just aint sure.
