I don't have the free time to go looking that far away. If I'm looking in the States, it'd better be Montana, Idaho, or Washington, or I won't be able to do it.

I talked to one of my contacts today, says I'd need a good frame shop and he can recommend a couple, but otherwise it sounds pretty good.

Well then how about this..... http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/1472553384.html

Looks a lot better than that twisted heap!
And less than 3 hours from the Kanuckistan border.

I don't live on the border, that's 15 hours away.

30 hours of driving might save ya a few hundred hours of work.

I was kidding, jeez~

Anyway, my dad's gonna have a look at it on Saturday and we'll go from there.

I can't help but be very wary about any car that's a significant distance away. I don't want to spend two or three days to check out a car that may be worth buying. I can't justify that kind of time spent without being at least very sure I will have a car when I come home.

And that's especially so given my lack of knowledge in this area. I can look at a car and hazard a guess as to how good it is, but I don't trust my own opinion because I've been wrong before and more than once. *cough*talon*cough* And all of the people I do trust are either too far away to begin with or can't also take that kind of time to come with me.
