Hi

New here, I have a 69 Camaro mostly restored. The wipers and gas gauge are the two last things (now) to complete. My ? is I want to replace the wiper motor and wiring, I see lots of places where I can order this but they are either hidden or not hidden wipers? How do I know which ones I have ? I thought all 69 Camaro wipers looked the same ? Also anybody use the select speed wipers from DSE select-a-speed wiper kit ? Any tips or comments appreciated

My 69 has wipers that are not hidden. Its an all original car that hasent been touched except by me. I to thought all 69s had the same blade setup. As far as DSE kit, Ive never used it or heard anything about it. Sorry, not much help. Good luck finishing the restore.

 

I've never seen hidden wipers on a '69. Maybe it's an aftemarket style update.

I know it was an opition on the second generation camaros, because the hoods had a raised lip near the windsheild so the wiper motor would pull the wipers about an inch to an inch and a half further down than normal. But there was no such thing in the 67-69s.

 

I agree. Never seen it. Perhaps the add is for second gen cars (or later) but not on a 1st gen. If you are looking for parts try www.rickscamaro.com or classicindustries.com. Also welcome to the forums and post up some pictures of the ride when you get a chance.

 

I had a 69 SS Camaro, never saw hidden wipers on any of them.

On the other hand, people keep saying that it was an option on 1970 Camaro's, but the way the hoods are on them, I have never seen any wipers NOT hidden. Has anyone else!?!??!?!

 

67 8 9 wiper motors are the same. u can buy a custom set up to hide it from a aftermarket store for those items. but all motor are on the fire wall.
