Default 69 Daytona Yellow Houndstooth Interior Mystery

Question for you experts on 1st gens. I am the second owner of a 69 SS with original Daytona Yellow Houndstooth interior. My deluxe yellow door panels are yellow with black carpet but they are stitched together with obvious stitching. Never really thought anything of it until they started splitting at the seam along the arm rest area. The replacements I am going to eventually purchase look like a molded Plastic/Foam of somekind. Were the originals stitched? Are these a cheap replacements before I bought car by original owner?? They never said anything and I cannot find them now. Just out of curiosity before I throw these out when I replace if they are some special first run door panels or something??? Any ideas, Thanks!!

Either way, the repros don't match the original yellow. If you start replacing, you will be replacing EVERYTHING...

I've had a few where the lower portion of the door panels had been overlaid with carpeting to "restore" a worn door panel without replacing it.

Yours could be a quick fix by the previous owner trying to make it look presentable again. Yellow is bound to get pretty dirty from shoes hitting it on the way in & out.
