69 camaro no start
Hi all!
I'm Tom, and I am having an issue with my 69. it sits a lot in storage and when i went to take it out a few weeks ago, it had to come home on a flatbed - and it ran perfect this past september until I put it away for the winter. it's a 327, trunk mounted battery, with a summit hi torque mini starter for header clearance and starting in all weather.
1) when I hit the key, nothing happens - no click no nothing
2) I can jump the two terminals n the starter and it will spin but that's it.
3) i discovered I have tail, dome and marker lights, and I have brights, but no low beam lights.
I tried replacing the solenoid with one I had laying around and nothing changed.
I redid the ground connections for the negative battery cable, and frame to body, also redid the main ground in the engine bay.
I finished the car in 1993, and used an aftermaket wiring harness
If I jiggle the floor shifter, that doesn't change anything, still no start
could it be a fuse?
do i need a new starter?
any help is appreciated
thanks!

Maybe rodents chewing on your wiring. "2) I can jump the two terminals n the starter and it will spin but that's it." Did you have the key in on position? Check the volts at the + side of the coil with the key in the on position. Try running a jumper wire from the + side of the coil to a live 12 volt terminal and then jump the starter terminals to see if it starts .Dimmer switch and ignition switch wires and switches should be checked.

Depends upon charging wiring back to battery.
If you just moved battery to trunk and 'lengthened' positive cable, then the battery is not being charged as OE battery cable is not hooked up.
Remember, the OE cable has a pigtail attaching to the battery junction block on rad support.
If other means of running a 'charge' wire to starter solenoid BATT post is not done, then battery loses charge.
8 AWG wire from alt BATT to starter would be find.
Once this is done, then measure battery voltage during engine running.
Adjust volt regulator as needed, or swap in an electronic VR, from eBay, $17 and free shipping, and let it take care of battery.
