'69 350 oil dipstick tube

Default '69 350 oil dipstick tube

Is the tube for the dipstick simply an "interference" fit? Any suggestion how to tighten it? I can't think of any adhesive or sealant that would hold.

Thread tape works good to get a snug fit.

Is it just slightly wobbly or is it very loose and leaking some?
Mine had a little wiggle to it. Took a wood dowl placed over the neck and gave it a few light taps with a small weight hammer. Problem fixed, never had the issue again.

I tried to enlarge the hole in the tube slightly with a socket, it helped. I got more snug and I applied a little Permatex and to the tube just under where it seats to the block. That should do it. It turns out it was leaking from there, so I was able to solve 2 problems at once.
