Talking 68 camaro gears?

Hello, i have a 68 camaro 355 turbo 400 and have about 450hp/425, what would be the ideal rear end gear ratio for the street? i would like a quick launch and still cruise 65 or 70 on the highway. thanks nuggetray

depends on your stall speed, which depends on your cam selection, and also with your tire height

as a general rule, anything more than a 3:55 is going to be a bad gear for long highway cruises

Yep you can't go wrong with 3:55s, I had some 4:11s in another car and it was great around tow, but no good on the highway.
