67 Tail light panel on a 69
Just picked up a 1969 camaro and it needs major restoration, I really love the 67 tail lights, and am wondering if you can use the panel on the 69 or will it not fit? Would i be better off getting the 69 panel and then cutting the panel to make the 67 lights fit? Thanks in advance

You'll have a couple of issues doing that. The 69 is wider in the rear than the 67 & 68 is, so you're going to have to narrow the panel. Not sure if they are configured the same around the quarter panels, but that doesn't really matter anyway as you'll be cutting both ends off to narrow it. Then there's the big hole in the middle where the 67-8 gas filler neck pokes through, you're going to need to cut/grind the raised area and weld in a patch panel. Your other option would be to just use the tail light portion of the 67 rear panel and graft it to the 69 panel. What is it that you like better about the 67 lights? Have you looked at the aftermarket: 69 billet tail lights? They're pretty slick.

i just like the look of the 67's better, don't know why just personal preference. The billets aren't bad at all, i just like this look better

Yeah, to each their own I guess. And before, I accidentally said you'd have to cut the tail panel down. To try and fit the 67-8 panel to the 69, you'd have to "stretch" it. Eh, it was late!
