67 RS wiring
#11
I am also having a few issues with one I am working on. When I open the drivers door, the headlight covers close. And when I close the door, the covers open. This is everything new, no motor or trans in it yet. Just testing the wiring. Anyone ever have this happen?

The door motors open and close by reversing the polarity of the power supplied to the motors. This is the purpose of the relays and limit switches. What color are the wires coming the motor and which limit switch do you have each connected to? It almost sounds like the two motor wires are reversed if that's possible.

the headlight doors open and shut. But the driver and passenger main body doors control them. If I open the drivers door they shut, if I push in the dome light switch in the door jam they open. Was thinking it might be a grounding issue. But everything looks grounded. Not sure if it could be in the headlight switch? That is the old one. Thanks

First thing is, are the head light bulbs installed and do they operate when the head light switch is turned "ON"? Secondly, do the both head light doors open and close together only with the dome light switches in the jam are activated on and off or does the headlight switch also need to be "ON"? The path to ground for the relays passes through the lamp elements and the doors will not work unless the headlamps are installed.
