Well this is a second. never heard of this happening b4...someone on this site must have the answer. I know they make two different sending units ?? a one line and a two liner in the tank ? I would suppose the six would have a one line sender from the tank...I will find out the trouble if I have to send it back to the Chevrolet Motor Division or talk with a retired GM assembly line worker who installed them ?? thanks for like same trouble info...

Blade, what are you talking about? What lines did you disconnect to take the Carb off? Fuel lines, vacuum hoses, but what electrical is on there? Plus if you didn't get it fixed... well it doesn't help much.

I had a simular problem long ago. I think it was a grounding issue at the sending unit. Can't recall, but I may have just bought a new one.

I know this is an old post but did you end up working out the issue with your gas gauge as mine is doing the same thing?
