Default 67 camaro rebuild

Hi everyone, i am brand new to this site. I bought a 67 camaro about 3 years ago. Although I have done minor work on older cars, I soon realized this would be a big project that I was not quite prepared for. I payed 8 for the car which was in decent condition - to my eyes. Since then - I have stripped the paint, completly had the engine rebuilt to about 400 hp, welded in new floor pans, new carpeting, reupolsetered front seats. Replaced the pass rear fender and have removed both front fenders and have the new ones waiting anxiously. Many dents and dings have been repaired includingthe dings to both doors. driver side door is back on and straight, pass side door is where i am struggling. I have found the inside door mount threads are stripped and looks like the only choice I have is to find bolts to put through and nut from the inside. Removed kick plate and that will be easy, but the top will be tough as the dash is in the way.

Sounds like you made some good progress. When I got my 67 it was pretty much sheet metal on crappy wheels. It was a roller with no motor or tranny, and I payed 8 for it as well. But it was an SS, which is what I wanted, and the body was solid. I've replaced/put in almost everything you can think of with that car except the fenders and floor pans which were already in good shape. New wiring harness, wheels, tires, and I found a 454 block for $450 and had it overhauled costing nearly $2500 and then putting another $1500 for pulleys, manifold, carb, etc. Put in a 4-speed I had in the garage. Replaced the drum brakes with discs, and completely restored the interior. Boy I'm glad I didn't save the receipts. Its a long process, but if you're as determined as I was, its gonna turn out good. Mine's in the paint shop now andafter that its on the street.Good luck finishing it up man, and we would all like some pictures if possible.

67ss -congrats on finding the ss. that is a nice find. after two hours of cursing, i have 2 of the 3 bolts tight on my door. gonna recruit the 6 year old son tomorrow to help with the last one by holding the wrench. lol. its been a while since i did anything with the motorsince i last started it 6 moinths ago for only a few seconds. I went to top it off tonight with antifreeze and saw it leaking from pass side - coming from a hole in the head - just below where my exhaust header is mounted. assume that just needs a short bolt? nothing else goes in there corect? i have my thermostat on the other side. will get some pics soon.

Tightened bolts in door tonight and it is straight.,on to the passenger fender. finally. ordered the bolt plug for the exhuast manifold so i can hopefully start it and test the temp sensor. Last time i started it - about 6 months ago, it did not turn off by the key and had to choke it to turn off. the power stays on. i traced all wires, and nothing appeared to be pinched. all worked fine when i first bought the car. I will test the key switch. took somepics tonight and will try to upload tomorrow.
