67 Camaro Brake Booster upgrade
I recently installed a new Brake booster and master cylinder to my previously non assisted 67 camaro. The car is fitted with a 383 stroker motor. Where do I need to tap into the vacumn lines for the brake booster. There is a recirculation hose that runs from the valve cover back into the inlet manifold, is this a good line to connect into or does it need to be a seperate line. The performance inlet manifold does not seem to have any many ports that I can use to tap into. There also appears to be a vacumn line that runs to the Turbo 350 transmission, would this work or will it affect the transmission shifting, if I tap into it.
Thanks

RE: 67 Camaro Brake Booster upgrade
The vacuum line going to your transmission is likely to be 1/4" diameter or smaller. This is not good enough to supply vacuum to the booster. The line to the valve cover is your PCV (positive crankcase ventilation). This line should be 3/8" in diameter. Although you can tee this line, I would recommend getting a fitting with two outlets to put in the intake manifold that will supply both the PCV and the booster. If your engine is cammed up you may have problems getting enough vacuum also. Boosters need about 17-18 inches of vacuum to function properly, the more the better. If you engine does not have enough you may consider installing an electric pump.

CONVERTING MY 69 TO POWER DRUM, YOU NEED A MANIFOLD FITTING W/ THREE PORTS. CLASSIC INDUSTRIES HAS IT UNDER PART # K0123 $19.95 . YOU WILL ALSO NEED A SHORT PIECE OF TUBING AND A FITTING FROM A HARDWARE STORE OR BUILDING SUPPLY. HOSE ATTACHES TO TUBING.
