502 Head Oil Galley Que + recommendations
So I popped off the stock valve covers off my GenVI 502 to grind the paint off the tops and was a bit shocked at the oil galleys on the stock heads. I don't have any experience with BBC dismantling so I'm not sure what the original size was or if this was the way they were made...any comments on the size of that opening on the top left corner of the head?
Also looking for anybody who has put another set of heads on this beast along with a new cam/intake. Looking at Edelbrock top end kit or maybe AFR heads along with a new cam. Any recommendations?
Appreciate the help!

Those 'holes' are drain holes from oil being pumped through pushrod to rocker ball and stud and rocker tip onto valve stem.
Oil pumped up has to drain back for cooling and lubing purposes.
Size of hole determined by casting head was made/poured in at foundry.

There not punched out , it's part of the castings of the head !!
