give it a good tune u, make sure it's timed correctly, and find a good carb guy to get it adjusted to the needs of the engine. Some folks will over tune a carb to try and get more out of it whenall it reallydoes is hurt the engine. Wheather it's origianl or not.... who cares... unlessyou are going to make it a hanger queen and show it.

ORIGINAL: TSTONE

right now planning on sticking with the 10B and just installing a posi carrier

everything ive read has indicated that it will be fine for my HP - you still may want to consider a 12 if and when you go with your 383 setup

right now im sporting 295/50/15's out back and turning about 3500 @ 80mph
I am having the 10 bolt redone. $1100 out the door for a Alburn pro and a 3.55 gear . @65MPH would be about 3,000 RPM with my tires. They tell me it will hold up on 400HP(SAE)with street tires with a auto. (no drags) I don't have the cash for a 12 bolt($3200 made and installed) I dont run this car that hard. YET!

As a matter of opinion only, I'd keep everything the same if you have a matching #'s car. Proper tuning and maybe a hotter spark could make a difference. I had a "loss of power problem" some time ago with a chevy small block only to learn that the battery was not performing as required. I replaced it with the correct amperage product and surprisingly grabbed alot of lost HP.
Chevy small blocks are basic / simple machines and if internally sound, only need minor adjustments to gain maximum performance within their designated range regardless of the HP rating.
A duel exhaust system will always maximize your HP.
