Default 1st time buyer - what to look for?

I am looking at buying a 1st gen Camaro, but I am a total newbie and don't know what to look for. Stupid questions warning.

Currently looking at a '68 with a 320hp 327/350 and SS emblems. What's the deal with the 327/350?

What's important to look for?

I am guessing matching numbers cars are hard to find and very expensive?

What to look for is really depending on what you want to do with the car. Do you want a project or complete car? I found I needed to develop a plan for what I want to end up with. So I didn't care about matching numbers as I had the LS3 waiting in the garage before i got the car. If you want original, then you need to decide what level car you want. And how much $$$$ you have to spend. Everything on the first gen is replaceable now (you can build a complete car with aftermarket parts) so I suggest determine what you want in the end and what starting point you are willing to start at...

Thanks guys.

This is the car I'm currently considering: http://www.finn.no/finn/car/used/obj...nkode=22447440

Norwegian site, but still...

It's listed at 159,000 NOK which is about USD $26,500. Apparantly came from California in March.

Any comments?

The classified lists it as 320hp. Good reason to doubt the numbers?

just because a 327 camaro from the factory didnt have 320hp dosent mean they dont exist!!
my 68 has a 327 with 375hp but thats due to rebuild with better components than were availible from gm in 68!!!!
look for rust issues in quarter panels, trunk, door jams, floors,etc..
buy the best cleanest car body/frame you can find!! dont worry about which engine/trans etc.. as it is way cheaper to replace an engine than to have rusty/bondoed quarter panels removed, replaced and repainted!!!!

Thanks.

What about the price? Compared to US prices there are 25% VAT here and about $2k in shipping (which is included in the $27k since it's already in Norway).
