1968 Camaro Pedal Mount Assembly Stud Dimensions
I'm replacing a pedal mount assembly on my late-year 68 because the studs for mounting the booster are chewed up. The studs coming into the firewall fit the holes in the firewall and the brake booster just fine. I ordered a replacement mount assembly and the studs on the left (looking from the engine compartment) don't line up with my firewall or my booster. The first one was sent back and a replacement was sent with the same issue. My crude measurement for the right side hole spacing (looking from the engine compartment) is 1.5" from the center of the top hole to the center of the bottom hole. The right side is 1.375" center to center. Centerline spacing from left to right is 3.5".
My car was basically a shell when I got it, so I'm not sure what it had for front and rear brakes originally. It was an automatic, but I'm converting it to a manual. I didn't think the pedal bracket changed between those applications. Does anyone have any measurements or experience with this issue they can share? Did these dimensions change for 1969 cars? My 68 is Rallye Green, which I think came out later in the production run for that year. Might it have received a 69 bracket assembly from the factory that has different dimensions from the 68?
