To start with, I recommend not running the engine any more until you're ready to take the car out on the road. THE way to break in an engine is to first do the initial cam break in procedure (assuming a flat tappet cam), then leave it alone until you can drive the car. Driving puts a load on the engine, which puts more outward force on the rings, which is what aids in proper ring/cylinder wall break-in. Some engine builders break in the engine on a dyno, which simulates driving under a load. Just running the engine in the garage (loafing) can do more harm than good, and if done enough times can actually prevent the rings from ever breaking in properly. Yeah, it's hard to resist hearing your new engine roar in the garage...but you want to fight the urge.

here's where I'm as of 1-9-2016 noon. I had all the cylinders compression tested. All are good. I was able to start the car and get it to move some. I need to add AT fluid(glide). Car seems to be running well, started up instantly. The smoke appears to be getting less and less the more I run it. I only have the heavy smoke out of the pass side header it is not constant smoke but sporatic. Driver side header only light smoke occasionally. But again, there is less smoke then I had last week.. There is no burning oil smell, it seems to be the lube still. I am going to time it again and run it down the road next weekend as suggested previously. Feel free to chime in, and all the posts are very helpful and I appreciate the guidance.New plugs that were put in are not oil soaked.
