Very nice car, You might want to concider power brake and front disc brake option. Drums all around even with power willnot stop that car like you are use to. Any project you do to the car take pictures lableand save all the parts. even thejunk ones. With a car that original a future buyer would any to know everything about it.

Where is the best place to buy a disc brake/power brake upgrade kit? I may as well go through the whole system while I am at it as i don't know if or when the current system has been replaced or serviced.

Go to ebay and watch a few auctions. The brake conversion kits vary in price. If you do your homework, and compare, you can get a decent buy. Even if you don't buy on ebay, you can get a better idea on what they sell for. And, it really isn't all that difficlt to change over if you get a complete kit. No matter what engine you end up with, the numbers will still identify it as a six cylinder car. So, you really should keep the original drivetrain for possible future 'original' restoration.
