I mean it did.I had not mentioned it,but I ran1966 GTO 3 deuces ,and out ran it approx.Quarter mile.I ran a Butternut Yellow 1968 Camaro 396 red light to red light and beat him. When he pulled up beside me I asked him what he had in it,His reply was 283.Out ran 396 chevelle also.Went to Little River Race track back then and was placed beside 1968 Z/28 and out ran it also.I have been shuned on another site for saying these race events like I was lying, but it is Gods Truth.I am searching hard to see if I can find It,no luck yet.Texas DMV will not tell me anything, have to hire private detective with very strick rules to do it.I really think something went on at the Factory with this vehicle.I am 71 now,but I can remember it like Yesterday. Thanks for the Reply.

If anyone wants to build a small journal 327 I have a long block, casting number 3892657. It has later model heads, the ones with the valve cover bolts down the center of the covers. I would eliminate those heads and use a set of 202 heads I have. The 202 heads were checked for cracks and it was determined they would be good builders for someone that wants the original 202s with a 327. I am in Tulare, CA 93274. I have not pulled the heads or pan off the 327, but someone did. I will take $800.00 for everything. Shipping is up to the buyer. Local pickup is encouraged. Blessings, Larry 559 978 0625 Cell

monarch, are the heads you have the early ones with no bolt holes?
the 327 crank, is it steel?
It's worth a little more than you are asking IMO
I have a similar engine I have been saving with camel back fuelies

Default 327 and Dbl Hump Heads

Yes the heads are the old ones, they do not have bolt holes for brackets. As stated, I have not pulled the heads of pan from the 327, and I have the casting number as a guide to what the motor is and when it was built. I thought all the cranks are forged cranks for that year. It would require pulling the pan to verify.
I also have 2 bare blocks, 350, 4 bolt mains, one is standard and one is .030 over, casting numbers are the same, 3970010. I would sell all 3 items for $1000.00. Any interest? Or know anyone with interest, maybe someone building an original Camaro or Chevelle? Thank you for your reply and comments.
Blessings

I have some interest and can get there with a truck or van
Do you have the suffix of either of the blocks you have?
Yes, without knowing for sure (I do not) but I think all 327's had forged steel cranks
And most of the 350's have cast iron cranks (unless you get a 350-370 HP LT! or other such SS or Corvette motor

Default 327 and 454

I have a cherry picker to load the motor. I do have a 454 and a Turbo 400. I have heads and cam and lifters that have not been run that I was going to use on the 454. Here's the story, Several years ago I had Ron Baker from Valley Engine build the 454 for the Camaro. He went through the motor, balanced and blue printed it. He built the heads better than new, we installed a Lunati Cam, the heads are not the big flow heads, but built for torque for the street. I have a polished Edlebrock Victor Jr. I have decided to make some changes to that motor. I am going to use the bottom end, but going to use Pro Maxx heads with a high quality valves, springs, and push rods with a Comp roller cam, large lift, a Weind Trick Warrior Intake manifold and a 850 Holley. The other 454 was rebuilt aprox 30K miles ago and it came out of a 1 ton chev pick up so I think it has a 4 bolt main. It is basically waiting for another Chevy to sit in. I would sell it with the trannie and all the parts mentioned for $3500.00 plus the 327 and the 2 bare blocks for $1000.00. Where are you located? You are welcome to call me at 559 978 0625. Blessings, Larry
