Default 1968-69 Camaro ss 350 buying question

Hi Guys
I am new to the forum and have a buying question as well as performance upgrade question.
I am in the market to buy a 68-69 Camaro 350 and could be a ss or a clone. can you guys please tell me what I should be asking when I am buying a car like this.; what are things to look out for. I am not looking for a show winner - I want to drive this car

As for the performance upgrades
can you add a supercharger to a stock 350 or crate engine that are used a lot and still keep the factory hood - I do not want a hood that has a big bump in the center or have to cut the hood
I would also like to upgrade the drive and handling - other then a coiler conversion are there any other options
are there another upgrades that should be Done for a good driver

I would like to keep the car looking as stock as it could be but have that extra HP and better drive

thanks for your help

You are talking about the most supported by aftermarket cars in the world. Just about every part has a cheap stock version and a super deluxe take a big chunk out of your wallet version. Take upgrading your brakes. You can go get parts from a u-pull it yard and buy some brackets and it will cost $200 and an upgrade to 16 inch wheels or you can buy an insane brembo system that costs 8K and 19” wheels and just about anything in between.

350 or even 350 crate engine means a lot of different thing. It could be a cheap $1500 270hp crate motor that would not stand up to boost very well or a mid range $3000 ZZ4 which built more for racing that may hold up to some boost. Sky is the limit on crate motor. You should be looking at LS motors if you want boost.

It is not uncommon for guys to spend 100k on their 69 LS turbo Camaro. It all comes down research based on what is important to you and your budget.
