Default 1968 396 Camaro survivor car

I just purchased a 1968 396 Camaro survivor car. The body build date on the trim tab is very confusing-it reads QPE-I have no way of tracking this code. Would you have any idea what these letters mean?

hmmm, interesting. Where on the trim tag is this code located? can you get a picture of it? You say it is the build date code, so it is in the upper left hand corner above the numbers 'ST68-12XXXX'. If so this doesnt make sense, so a picute of the tag would be helpfull.

Here is how it reads:

QPE
ST68-12437 NOR 37396 Body
TR712H2 Paint

This appears in the upper left corner of the trim plate. I spoke with Jerry MacNeish 2 days ago and heseems to think this was a code chevrolet used on their Camaro trim plates for cars that were sent to Europe. This does'nt make alot of sense to me but it is at least an idea. I've checked chevy by the numbers and multiple other Camaro sources and can find nothing to disifer this code? Any ideas are appreciated.

Nice find rand!.. I saw that link once before and have been trying to find it ever since, now its locked in my 'favorites'
Anyways. Wouldnt the rpo code, used on the cowl tag in this case be in the lower section of the tag? like Z28 or X11....
