Hi, does the 67 SS hood ornament use the3927443 bezel? I see it shown for 68 and up, but the assy manual for 1967 does not show the bezel. Looks like if used would take an extra seal to seal the hood. Everything I find is for 68 up as far as diagrams go

The seal for that bezel is 3949698.

 

This # also shown for 68 and up. Is like 67 a one year item

 

Pretty sure '67 is the same as '68. This ad shows '67-'71 with Nova SS using the same part.

If 67 used a bezel the assy manual should show 2 seals to seal the part to the hood I think, one between the hood and one between the bezel and the ornament.
Looking at my parts just noticed that the ornaments have 2 different part numbers. 3914781 as shown in the assy manual, and the other has a part number 3927442 that the aftermarket parts suppliers reference.
The parts appear (are )identical, and on the one part can see the remnants of the 3914781 part number. they just changed the number on the mold to the new part number as the new number is also cast into the part. So is it possible early cars did not have a bezel and part number changed when a bezel was added? Assy manual just shows ornament 3914781 and seal 3898146 . The ornament as one piece in the overall picture and the ornament (1 piece) and seal in View A. SO was there a production change. My car is Los Angeles Jan 4th week,

 

I'm using the Chevy parts manual. 3927442 is an ornament, 3927443 is a bezel, and 3949698 is the seal for 68 to 72 Nova and 67 Camaro.

 

The seal 3949698 is also used on the 68/69 Camaro.
