When I picked up my muncie Sunday the guy (74 years old ) had a sweet 67 ss 68,000 miles but I never or don't remember seeing the type of hood he had it had nova like grills on the hood recessed in the hood he said it was an early 67 option have any of you guys seen the hood all the years going to car shows I don't remember that type of hood

 

The 67 SS models, and early 68 SS350 had the finned hood inserts. 68-69 SS had the velocity stack inserts.
Did it look like this (last pic): 1967 RS and/or SS
