Hey my gas gauge is past full was wondering what test I can do to see if its the sender or gauge itself thanks

 

Get/acquire a 50 ohm resistor and place at disconnected lead next to trunk latch structure and go from ground to tan wire and gauge should indicate approximately 1/2 tank.
Measure into wire going through trunk floor and see if it reads any resistance to ground reference point.
