Has this happened to anyone and can it be reset without the dealer?

I was driving down the highway during rush hour, when brake lights started to glow. I stepped on the brake from 65mph to 0mph. Car stopped great without hitting anyone, but as we statred moving again, the car felt like it was shuttering. Looked at the dash and the check engine light was on. Made it to my destination and the car started running normal, but the light is still on. I also noticed the remote start won't work.

This actually happened before by braking hard and the dealer said it misfired. I guess it happened again.

 

Happened again! Took it to the dealer and all they did was reprogram the BCM. This seems to take care of it for a short time.
