Default Bank 1 misfire

2010 Camaro v6, misfires from bank1 according to my scanner. I have switched all coil packs from side to side and it stayed on bank1. I have a bluetooth scanner that can clear codes and when I do it clears up right away and runs better. I'm at a loss, if it was a major issue it wouldn't clear up by just clearing codes.

Sure it would. When the check engine light is on, in your case of a misfire, the engine is put in reduced power mode, also referred to as limp mode. There are a number of things that can cause a misfire... bad coil(s), spark plugs, fuel injectors to name a few. One other possibility is due to the very nature of your engine. Yours is direct injected, and that type of engine is more apt to get greater build up of carbon on the valves because, fuel is not running past them like with a throttle body injected engine. If your car has a good amount of miles, consider taking it to a reliable shop and have them perform a GDI (gasoline direct injection) cleaning service. It's about a 2 hour process that deep cleans the the engine, and de-carbons the valves. We have had numerous direct injected cars come through our shop, running like crap and setting off misfire codes, where this service alone would totally clear up the misfire issues.

I was told that it has 2 dead valves. Any idea what would cause that and how to fix it?

The 2 dead valves are probably the intake valves with carbon build up from crankcase ventilation which is what Camaro 69 is referring to. Welcome to direct injection.
