Can I ask One more dumbb question ? I have always been a big fan in synthetic lubes in my street bike & quad & they've done me well under brutal conditions. as for being an old timer, well, it's all still the same, air/fuel/spark is what you need.
so, yes, freer flowing intake and cooler air is a good thing. A freer flowing exhaust is also a good thing. Modern vehicles have sensors to adapt to a/f so by adding a cold air intake, most vehicles will compensate without needing to retune the computer (except 2005-2010 Mustangs)
As for exhaust, I'm not sure about the gen 5's but I've read whre the exhaust is already pretty darn good. Now, with the 4th gens, the exhaust manifolds are pathetic and you get good gains with long tube headers and a a 3 inch exhaust.
If you want, I can lend you a dwell meter so you can adjust the points. (i'm being cute)
Trifecta Performance is supposedly the only tune available so far, but at $400 for ~24hp and 17tq, is it worth it?
I have been told by a local performance shop, Benchmark Tuning in Melrose Park, IL that STS products are not recommended: "The reason why I don't like their stuff is because their support is awful and the turbos they use are not good. They always have a tendency of leaking oil and getting seized up."

The mod i want most and have to wait for is the STS Turbo which boasts massive gains. Only reason I have to wait is the $6000 price tag. Ive been reading and come across several claims of the V6 beating up on the V8s. Has anyone come across a reputable tuner/programmer for the V6s?

Try the Injen CAI instead, most others are yielding zip in gains, while Injen is modest. Which exhaust did you go with?
So I went to track recently and did horible. I put on the intake and exhaust and wasn't able to do better than stock... WTF...... I'm hoping the 100 degree weather made a difference but the best that I could do was a 15.43. When stock I did a 15.56 in early april. Also how in the world can I do a 15.6 at 93 mph then do a 15.5 at 86 mph... that doesn't sound right to me??
Has that turbo kit come out yet or is that a future production thing?

I put on a flow master cat back. ran 2 and 1/2 pipes to the muffers with a 3' out. Ill try and get it on youtube to show what it sounds like. I didnt like it at first but you get used to it i guess and love it way more than stock. I have never been too impressed with Ingen so I probably wont change over. realistically they are all about the same.
I have been to a local shop out here and they were talking about a low rpm turbo that will kick in almost right away. I dont remember the name of the turbo they are using but supposedly kicking the boost up to 20+ and not having any problems. That is way down the road though, I rather upgrade other things first.

Actually they are not all the same, better check your facts first, read these independant test results from Jannetty Racing in CT:

Yes, Injen had the best average HP & Torque, from the ones tested.
Here are more notes on this test for those interested:

I might have to look into another CAI. The temp increase on the araid is the most. Maybe thats whats killing my HP. Well might be in the market for another CAI shortly....
