Default Z/28 to get DI V8?!

I asked the question out at Indy in the GM presentation Q&A, and the initial reaction was sure interesting, if not telling?! But the next Generation V LS-Series GM engines are looking at Direct Injection, reportedly due in '09...

Every gas station in missouri has an E-85 pump. That gas is worthless....

i wouldnt go that far to say its worthless. Its rated at 110 octane or 105 i cant remember, which is great for racing, but you would have to have a different setup for it to work, and at the time when gas was $4 a gallon e85 was in the low $3s, however there arent many around here that actually carry it.And all the stations i see that have e85 use is as a replacement to sell premium.

I would expect '10 or '11 before a DI V8 comes out from GM. I think they will go through some major changes (I sure hope so) before then, but eventually just about every engine on the market will be DI makes a difference all around, so KIAs to Fords to Porsches (already) will have it. E85? Eventually I would hope we would have cars burning pure ethanol I don't like losing about 15% of the potential distance on a tank of fuel, but I love the octane rating and what I can do with the tuning. Wow!! Good stuff if tuned right.
