Winter Sucks
i got the joy of having my camaro slide out of the driveway with the first snow this winter :'( luckily nothing bad happened to it. looking forward to getting my samurai street legal so i can park the camaro and not have to worry about it. 4x4 is nice lol
Anyone had any luck with the SS model on snowy roads?
Curious as to whether or not I need to find a storage spot for one and try to keep the beater alive. Or it could be enough to cause me to consider the LT model.
Then again, is the LT model also a problem in winter conditions?

You keep some good snow tires on it and drive very carefully, and you will manage, I think. But for the cost of those snow tires, just buy a Chevette or whatever beater you can find instead.
After all, no matter how careful you are, you can't ever really count on the other idiots being the same.

Cammy is fun to take out in the winter(shes a 4th gen btw) - I've got Toyo-tires on her they do pretty good(not as good as Blizzak, my bro had those and drove his 80's camaro all winter long in Fairbanks, AK) but I'm pretty used to driving in the snow - I've got a long driveway and the damn plow always leaves me a good chunk of snow at the bottom so I have to hit it pretty fast and then I know I'm gonna slide as I turn onto the road but it's pretty easy for me to correct it now... I always keep her in Drive too instead of Overdrive in the winter cuz the manual says it's got more power but I don't really notice much difference.
Hehe it's kinda funny too cuz I bought Cammy while I still lived in Alaska so she has a plug that I can stick in any standard grounded outlet which keeps her battery/engine block/and oil pan heated. I've started her when it's -50 out and she warms up pretty quick even with just her 3.8L engine.
Probly the worst thing about winter driving for me is when I have to use reverse - Cammy likes to spin out in reverse, much much worse than in drive. Thats why the shovel/wood planks are in the hatch though.!
