Default Where to buy/order a new Camaro

For anyone that has purchased a new Camaro or is a dealer, where is the best place to order a new car? I am seeing dealers advertising cars for 3% under msrp right now. Anyone have better numbers or suggestions?

If you are a dealer, I have another question. I have a first gen that I would sell/trade on a 2011. Should I sell or trade to maximize my funds? I understand the benefit of trade on sales tax, but is a 1rst gen a tradable car from a value perspective?

Thanks

Default 2011 orders

I ordered a 2011 on 5/18, when I walked into the dealer it just happened to be the first day you could order one. Just got my order# today and they are saying delivery in late June. Will have vin # in about a week or so.I think any dealer should be able to help you out.

I'm no dealer, but pretty sure the actual trade in value of a 1g would be next to nothing. I have found that a private sale is harder, but you usually would get more. I was trading in a 99 Durango and the dealer was going to give $2k and I sold it for $5k privately.

You should pay no more than GM Preferred pricing (previously called supplier)

buckmaster, edog is right, the trade in on a 1st gen camaro to a dealer is nothing, but if you put it on c-list or something like that then now...you are on to something good luck!

I work for a dealer in Salt Lake City, and I can tell you that the markup on the Camaro is very small (your 3% is pretty close to the mark). They started off selling at (or in some cases, above) sticker, but they're going for close to dealer invoice right now.

As for your 1st gen, you'll be better off selling it on your own unless you find a dealer who has a passion for early cars (our new car manager has a '67 and an '00)...you might find one who would love to have a 1st gen in their inventory.

Our '11s are about to start coming in; first 4 were due yesterday, actually. Let me know if you would like any assistance!
