Default Water pump suggestions

I enjoy viewing this camaro forum ,very informative site. I’m a new member and I own a 2010 camaro LT1 V6
which I purchased in July: it has 46k miles . A few weeks after I purchased the car I noticed a fluid leak (antifreeze)on passenger side of vehicle . I read on this forum it is an issue with early model camaros.
I took my car to my mechanic and they replaced the thermostat and gasket for 600 hundred dollars, mostly labor. He also told me the water pump needs to be replaced because of noisy bearings. I plan on replacing the water pump myself, just need a recommendation on a good brand name, any suggestions?
Thanks

Seems a bit unusual for a water pump to have problems at 46k miles. Are you able to check it yourself first? Take the belt off and spin it by hand. It should have some resistance. Most likely everyone might tell you to stick to an OEM AcDelco water pump and that’s what I’d also recommend. If your looking for something inexpensive I would look into a Gates or Dayco water pump. Definitely check on rockauto. They have good prices on them.
