water pump?

Default water pump?

ok might sound gay.but i never had a water pump go bad on me..how do u tell if your water pump is bad?i drove my car back home from friends house and there is water all over the drive way..its night so i can not see nothing but car was not over heating or nothing umm rad water is dirty as hell i notice when i bought it..any idea?i don;t think i crake the rad

before you do a water pump, check all your hoses...

Hard to see exactly where something is leaking, it could be traveling thruout the bay before it drops down or something

I kno for older models, if you can 'wiggle' the part the pully connects to up and down by hand it's getting old...

other than that, just see if there's water coming out of the gasket area...or any other part of the wp

Thats a major sign. You have to look at it from the bottom and on the snout just a few inches from the pully you will see a hole. They are built into it so you can tell when the seal inside is going out.

From your ID, I assume you have a LT1 engine. If that is the case, and the water pump is leaking, it will drip coolant on the Optispark distributor. The opti does not like dampness and will quickly die, so if you wait too longto fix the problemyou will need a new $400 distributor.
