Remote Start
I thought the whole purpose of remote start was so you can cool down the car interior (especially here in Texas) or warm up the interior on a cold day. When using this feature, the fan blows, but the compressor doesn't kick in until I put the key in the ignition. Is everyone else experiencing this?
By the way, thanks everyone for the input on my previous questions.

From what I was told, remote start is a primary benefit for winter weather so you don't have to wait on your car to warm up to start blowing hot air. It would be nice if it did cool the car but I don't think it can.
I dont know what the diffrence would be but I own an 08 Impala and it has remote start which does turn on the A/C, and I love using it (here in Texas)
It will only run the car for 10 or 15 min, it then shuts down the car, most likely to prevent an overheat condition which Pete mentioned
I would call the dealer
Good luck

Thanks for the responses. My wifes Avalon has remote start as well and if the AC is left on, it will turn on with remote start. I guess its different with auto makers. Waiting to hear back from my dealer though.
My wife's 2010 Malibu 2LT (3.6) runs the AC when using the remote start. Unfortunately I only have an LS Camaro so it does not have a remote start.
After buying her car a couple of weeks ago I wish I would have sprung for more features when I bought mine, the split leather interior, connectivity package, auto dimming rear view mirror, stereo steering wheel controls, heated seats etc... would sure be nice to have.......
