Default Radio and display

My 2013 LS has a standard radio and climate control display. It started to go crazy: switched from Sirius to FM, switched back and forth a few times, display went blank then would come back with the standard display of time/date/ temp, then would display climate control, the radio would go on even after I shut it off, the display went back to default time and date (1/1/2010), and every minute or so would go blank, then display climate control, the time/date/temp, radio on and off. The blinker sound would stop working periodically also. I had to drive home continually turning off the radio and turning the volume down to stop the popping and cracking in the speakers. Does anyone know what’s going on before I have to call the dealer?

Do you know what that white wire controls, or controlled? Seems strange to cut an existing wire and then all works. Thanks.

no that's why I looked further and found the fuse base connection problem. may need to bend the connectors inside the fuse box for that fuse for a better connection if that's the problem.

So far I pulled the fuse for the radio and then replaced to eliminate the cause being a bad connection. Everything initially seems back to normal, but I’ll have to drive it for awhile to make sure. Thanks!
On another note, it was very difficult to get at that fuse. I don’t know what Chevrolet was thinking not putting a door cutout in the trunk lining like they did on my Malibu.

Still having the problem. Additionally I removed and cleaned all the battery connections, including where the ground cable connects to the body. Still no luck. My last effort before a dealer appointment is to remove the screen cover and check the connections underneath.

screen goes off and on.
radio doesn’t work but speakers crackle and pop when the radio try’s to work even after I shut it off.
the AC works but the fan goes in and out with the indicator lights on the AC and fan controls flashing in sequence.
blinker sound also goes in and out

I’ll also check the other fuses as illustrated in the video you sent me. Who knows what fuse controls all those things I noted.

I am wondering if that fuse you pulled and put back in is still not getting a good connection. did you look in the fuse holder to make sure the little metal tabs are close enough together to get good connection to the fuse metal tabs that go into them.

I did pinch them in a little. I’ll check it again and report back.
