purchasing Camaro, suggestions?
mmm we are slight different for this
. I'm a real electronics maniac; I would buy a 2011 one only for the HUD and tire pressure sensors
One of my instructors had rented a V6 and said he had trouble getting on the freeway here, but he also didnt know the speed limit is 75 till the last second.
Oh, and the transmission. When I am sitting in traffic I wish I had the auto once in a while, but then the rest of the time I am glad I have the 6 spd. I just like the greater connection with the car. Kind of makes me feel more involved with the whole thing.
I always had Manual cars only and for me the Automatic is a new toy. My last ride was a city car with sequential automatic with paddle shift. It was very slow and very frustrating but in traffic (and in Italy doesn't exist a traffic free road) was a must.
Yes, you are right, no connection with the car but it had a 64HP (yep, sixtyfour) engine ahahah, with the manual one I'm sure the story never changed so much
I know that buying a muscle car for riding at 45mph or using it only for traffic is like having Megan Fox phone number and do not using it but I really love this car and at the same time I would appreciate some new generation car comfort packages...
..ok, only 2 posts and I've already demonstrated I'm not so normal
yep you are right; I think my question has no answer other than what I have on my mind. Maybe is only the excuse to share with you my insanity eheh
I need a car for daily use, for sure, but for me driving is, must be, a pleasure. In italy I always rode my 200HP bike in traffic for daily use, going to work and very few times I had the possibility to go on track. Maybe was a waste but I loved ride it, even if I was stucked.
I want to have the same pleasure with my 4 wheel ride when I'll move in CA and I want try to find a balance: avoid spending money on a V8, fuel, maintenance having a good V6 and at the same time avoid spending for a V6 and regret swapping comforts for a better engine.
I repeat, you are right, maybe I already know what I want, maybe a 2LT RS Auto or waiting for a LT convertible but I'm new and I appreciate ALL your suggestions, even if are different from my thought

mmm yes, it would be hard. So you confirm if I set in Manual I can only shift with paddles? there are no commands on stick? so steering paddleshift or fully Auto right?

The 1SS has the TPMS (Tire pressure). I think we have to have it now in the US on new cars. My wifes Kia even has it, although hers is passive, it only tells when pressure is low on a tire (not even which it is). I did want the gauges in the 2SS, but not worth it to me for the upgrade cost (I forgot about them now).
You could have turbo'd your 64HP and got at least 70 out of her, lol. Or even better the stickers that add 100HP. (JK)
Please dont take my opinion of the V6 the wrong way, I just know that the first time a V8 Camaro pulled up next to me if I was a V6 I wouldnt be able to handle it. If I wasnt able to get the V8 I would have just kept the 06 Eclipse GT it had a strong V6 too. That was a nice car also.
Oh ya, about the speed, avg for me right now is 27.7 MPH at 10100 miles so far. I know sad. But I have a 5 mile drive through construction every morning. But when I get on I25 I get on quick
. 17.6 MPG also in case you wondered. Even at the low avg speed I get to the limit real fast so I know I could get better MPG, but for now I dont care. Maybe later.

But I'm not kidding, I ever dreamed the HUD and I think I choose the Camaro instead of the Mustang quite only for that

) but I was disappointed for gages: there are in the worst place for reading, maybe is a "classic" place but I rather a complete, functional, maybe confused but complete dashboard.I like having every information under my eyes and not under my knees

, I need inputs

For now I even don't know where I'll go to work, maybe at 90mi from home and a lot of traffic, sad for a V6, just imagine what a torture for a V8
I'm using in CA a V6 C230 Benz and 16 to 18mpg in the city, 30mpg!! in highway. If I could stay into 16mpg for city and 25mpg for highway I will be happy for now
To me, it's a lot lighter! Sorry, I've owned both! With all of the hardware that my R/T Charger-Daytona edition had, it was a noticeable difference compared to my Camaro. Going by specs online isn't going to give you the accuracy to make the judgement call my friend. Regardless, this gentleman wanted an honest opinion of what to buy. I don't believe the arguement that it's "more manly" is the winner. Just my .02 cents.
no need for you to be offended, that weight was for the heaviest model charger, by dodge, not just some random site, and the lightest camaro off gms site.... I dont believe the arguement that it's "lighter" when its not is the winner. Just my .02 cents
Well there you go, I get the 17 in the city. I am sure I get at least 25 on the highway. SS it is then, lol.
having driven both a V8 and a V6 back-to-back, I have a hard time believing you would think twice about buying an SS. The V6 is fine, but it just feels like a dog by comparison. Also, the auto doesn't really have paddle shifters. It looks like it does, but they're actually just buttons. I didn't really get to flog the car much, but the responsiveness of the manual inputs left something to be desired. I didn't get much seat time with a manual car, because frankly I'm not good enough at driving stick to be able to drive that car (that mile and a half was NOT pretty haha).
As far as trim levels go, I don't think I'd ever buy a non-RS 5th gen. Those halo headlights are just way too cool to pass up

I have the 2SS six speed. If you are going to own a muscle car you can't have a V6. Automatic muscle cars aren't muscle cars. I would suggest the painted ground effects and the factory 21" rims. Just sets you off from all the other camaros. It's worth the extra money. Good luck in whatever you choose.

Thank you guys,
Yes, it will be a pretty babe but each time I do the car configuration, it get out ever the same price eheh
I know the real muscle car is a V8, a manual shift and unique but then, to have a "real" one, the 5th gen is not the right choice IMHO.
I know i'm very "weird" but I love new, I love electronics, HID, HUD, ESP (disabled
Money are not enough, I'm moving and I can't' spend everything on car (for now
but I ever dreamed cars as Camaro, the 2SS RS manual will be a dream trying to become true but if it will not be possible, I'd rather a 2LT instead of a ricer (without offending Japs cars
